Times Have Changed....

It seems to me that after every few months each one of my blog posts begins with; 'Well it's been a while since I last posted anything!'. I'm gonna make a conscious effort to blog more often like back in the day.

So what's been going on.....not a whole lot, other than I got engaged and will be getting married this summer!! I can't believe how crazy the last few months have been and how fast time is passing. I got engaged October 22nd, 2010 on a crisp Friday afternoon, and from that moment forward it seems as if I'm standing still and the time is just flying by. In just 4 quick months I will be a married man and ready to start a whole new chapter in my life. I don't think too much is going to change other than a few more financial responsibilities, but I'm so excited to be with Danika for the rest of my life and start living our life. We always have fun together and joke around like a bunch of young kids who can't stand to be without one another (I know it sounds tacky and cliche) but it's the truth!

Planning this wedding hasn't been too bad, we're pretty organized and everything has been going according to plan. Of course we have our mini arguments about small details, but who doesn't? On top of planning this wedding we are also in the process of house shopping/building a house and that in itself has been quite challenging. Who knew it would be this hard to buy a house??

From now until September 3rd (the wedding date), I will be blogging from a males perspective on the trials and tribulations of planning a wedding and building a house. There will be nothing held back, clean slacks or not!

Below is the link for the proposal video I made to commemorate the moment....

I Couldn't Fight It.......

I don't need people telling me that I have no will power.......I'm already aware! A few months ago I was at work anxiously waiting to watch the latest Apple press release, where they introduce a bunch of shiny new products that I always end up buying. Well this time I had told myself that it would be different, and that I wouldn't succumb to running to the Apple store waiting to pick the latest and greatest in what they had to offer.

Steve Jobs came out on to the stage and was talking about the iTunes store, and the massive sucess that they have been having with the sale of digital music. Then out of nowhere he pulls out this new insane looking device and shouted out....'This is the iPad, say hello'. As soon as he pulled that damn iPad out I knew that this was a bad time for me to make a bet with myself!! He went into discussion talking about all the new and innovative things this iPad could do, and sitting there I realized that this was just an oversized iPhone and a giant waste of money. I was also worried about Apple's reputaion, in that this new product might not do well and hurt all their other products.

Finally, at the end of his presentation he told the world that this would only be available in the USA first and then slowly start to trickle to the rest of the world. As the months went by, much hype was created about this new product and when it finally came out all hell broke loose! All the tech blog sites gave it nothing but good reviews and the YouTube videos were coming out with the same message. I still stuck by my guns and kept trying to convince myself that I didn't need one.

I would like to announce that they still aren't available in Canada, but I'm a complete puppet and am now writing this blog post from my shiny new iPad. Goodnight and god bless all of those, including me, who still rock a clean pair of slacks.

I'm Going Going Back Back To.......

So it's been awhile since the last post, and most bloggers would write that they've been super busy and unable to put up a good posts......but we all know that would be a lie. Honestly, I've just been lazy and uninspired to really write about anything....but I'm back snitches!!

The last couple of weeks have been better than okay, had the chance to head out to Whorlando with the boys on a nice little vaca and just recently went down south to Mexico with DK. The trip to Mexico was incredible and so much fun, but it was bittersweet when I got off the plane into the airport and smelt that stale heat soaked air. I mean....I hadn't been to Mexico since the last Springheat trip which was quite a few years ago, and to land without my boys and a boat load of students behind me was a little strange. I missed not seeing the Springheat banners all over the city, and all the students with party bracelets on ready to get drunk as all hell.

Even though I wasn't there for a Springheat banger, it felt refreshing not having to worry about smuggling large sums of money in my pockets over the border....or dealing with students and their idiocity. It was just me, my girlfriend and an open bar that I had to....NO.....must conquer for the next 7 days, and it felt amazing. I have a new found respect for Mexico and how the city looks when your not surrounded by thousands of spring breakers.......it's aight!
